NATURAL BRIDGES STATE BEACH: This beach
is world-renowned for monarch butterflies yearly migration. During the
peak season, from October 15th to February 1st, it is conceivable to
view thousands of butterflies.
This beach, with its famous natural bridge,
is an exceptional place to view shore and ocean birds, migrating whales,
and seals and otters playing offshore. Further, along the beach, the
clear tide pools give a peek beneath the sea. Low tides reveal sea stars,
crabs, sea anemones, and other colorful ocean life. Tide charts are
available in the bookstore.
The park also includes areas of coastal
scrub meadows, with bright native wildflowers in the spring. Moore Creek
flows down to the ocean through these meadows, forming wetlands in the
sand. This is an exquisite place of natural beauty.
