Morro Bay

MORRO BAY, CALIFORNIA: is located on the Pacific Coast of California about half way between San Francisco and Los Angeles near Hearst Castle and the Big Sur Coast. Morro Bay is a working fishing village and a famous California historical landmark. This quaint, artsy town is a pleasurable tourist destination which has very mild weather all year long.

MORRO BAY STATE PARK is rich with lagoon life and is natural bay habitat. The bay’s most prominent landmark is Morro Rock. The park provides opportunities for fishing, hiking sailing, and bird watching. The park also has a lively marina and an 18-hole public golf course. On the bay’s northeast edge is a lovely saltwater marsh that supports a flourishing bird population. A visit to the California Central Coast is not complete without a stop at the Museum of Natural History in Morro Bay State Park. The museum has activities for all ages: nature walks, exhibits, puppet shows, videos, insightful tours and special events.

CLIMATE: Morro Bay has moderate to cooler weather during the winter months. As with much of the central coast of California, temperatures may vary and layered clothing is recommended.
