If you are interested in a secluded and
off the beaten track location, Victoria beach is for you. South of Laguna’s
Main Beach and tucked away in a ritzy residential area lies an OC secret.
This is a stunning little beach located at the end of Victoria Drive.
Parking is the only obstacle when choosing this location for a day out
at the beach, especially during the summer months. The best bet is to
park on the pacific coast highway and walk down to the beach (about
a 5 minute walk downhill).
This is not the best place to surf because
of a powerful shore break, but it definitely |
produces great conditions
for skim boarding. Sunbathing seems to be the main activity at this
sandy beach though, as its private location keeps big crowds and family
gatherings to a minimum. There is also a beach volleyball court at the
entrance for extra entertainment. This is a great beach to come to if
you want a relaxing and quiet day at the beach with a beautiful view
of the ocean.
The main attraction to Victoria Beach is
“La Tour”, a tower that was built in 1926. The tower is
a spectacular landmark, which presents a spiraling staircase from the
cliffs above. It is a delight to tourists, artists and photographers
who often visit the beach just to paint or photograph it. It is best
to view the tower at low tide, so you can get a better view.
- The beach is open 6am – 10pm
- No glass containers/alcoholic beverages
- No vehicles on the beach
- No fires
- No dogs
