Sunset Beach
Sunset Beach
   What's special about Sunset Beach iTitles its small town charm. It is a tiny treasure tucked in between the crazy Huntington Beach crowds to the south and the hectic city of Long Beach to the north. There is a perfect view of the Long Beach skyline from the beach. The beach can fill up on the weekends but remains relatively quiet on the weekdays and early mornings. This is mainly a local spot.

Sunset Beach is located off the Pacific Coast Highway (PCH) and has free parking at the beach’s entrance.
You should arrive early on the weekends, because the spaces are limited. It is a small beach which offers a couple miles of soft sand, several public restrooms, a playground area for the kids and food concessions nearby.

This is another one of Orange Counties surf spots. The waves are not as fierce as Huntington pier, but this is a first-rate place to break out that Long Board. In fact, Surfer Joe’s Summer Long Board Classic is held at Sunset beach in July every year. This is one of Sunset beaches largest events and brings more than 100 Long Boarders out on the water. This is a good time to visit this tiny surf town.

Sunset is an open beach which provides good conditions for windsurfing as well. There is beach volleyball courts set out on the sand and a large space available for any kind of beach activity. This is basically a mellow beach to chill out at for the day. Unfortunately there is no camping, but Bolsa Chica State Beach, in Huntington is only a couple of miles away and offers several campsites.
