Just south of Laguna Beach lies Aliso Creek
County Beach, a quaint family beach. Close parking, plenty of picnic
tables and park benches make this place an easy day out at the beach.
Sunbathing parents can soak up the sun, while their kids play at the
beaches playground or break out their skim boards for an awesome down
slope ride. The beach breaks here make surfing very difficult and dangerous,
but creates perfect conditions for skim boarders. |
There is a diamond shaped snack bar in
the center of the beach. There was once a pier attached to the small
shop but it was taken down by El Nino. Now the snack bar stands alone.
Many people fish off the front end of the snack bar. Fishing poles and
gear can be rented from the shop next door.
The north end of the beach offers a couple
of beach volleyball nets, somewhat of a distance from the parking area.
There is a reef along the coast of Aliso Creek, which makes for great
snorkeling. Tide pool exploration is an interesting pastime here. There
are tide pools to the left and to the right of the beach, but be careful
not to touch or remove animals and plants from the pools, as fines can
exceed $1000.
There is no camping at this beach but guests
can enjoy bonfires in the designated fire rings along the shore. Anytime
is a good time to visit this beach, although summer time offers warmer
water and weather.
