LOCATION: Mendocino County Coast, California
Schooner Gulch Beach: A wonderful beach spot along the Mendocino
Coast, about 50 miles northwest of Santa Rosa, with incredible
vistas and striking sunsets. Whether you are walking, hiking,
sitting in the grass watching the sun set, fishing, scuba diving,
picnicking, or surfing, or windsurfing, Schooner Gulch is a wonderful
place to spend the day and a great place for photographs. Schooner
Gulch State Park offers over 52 acres of hiking trails and beach.
CLIMATE: As with any of the Northern California beaches, the weather
varies and layered clothing is advisable.
LOCAL FLAVOR: While Mendocino County is filled with incredible
natural beauty, from glass bottom beaches, to soaring trees, or
ocean front botanical gardens, there is something for everyone
in Mendocino County! Mendocino has unique gift shops, striking
Victorian Villages, loaded with art galleries, live music, and
award winning restaurants. There are also world class wine vineyards
in Mendocino County that are great for touring. Romantic, alluring,
the Mendocino Coast is a great place to get away and appreciate
life!
