LOCATION: Mendocino County Coast, California
FISH ROCK BEACH: More popularly known as “Anchor Bay Beach,”
this is a seasonal vacation spot wonderfully escapes the windy,
moody weather often seen on the Northern California coast, because
of its cove-like location. Spring, summer and fall are all very
nice times of the year to visit this beach. Since most of the
Northern coast is dominated by high cliffs, boulders and cobblestone
beaches, the white sandy shores at Anchor Bay are exquisite. They
however disappear during the winter season with the typical pounding
storms of the Pacific and turn into every other rock filled, beach.
As surely as the sun sets and rises, the beach will become a sandy
oasis just in time for the nicer weather of spring and summer.
CLIMATE: While this area tends to be a little warmer than most
of the beaches in Northern California, still, the weather can
be subject to change, fog drifts, marine layers and layered clothing
is always recommended.
