Lawson’s Landing

Lawson’s Landing
Location : Tomales Bay/Marin County, California

LAWSON’S LANDING: Located about an hour and a half north of the Golden Gate Bridge, at the mouth of Tomales Bay and approximately 20 minutes from Dillion Beach. Lawson’s Landing is a campground primarily used by boaters and fishermen. Lawson’s Landing is a wonderful escape from the heat and a lovely place to enjoy the scenery. A popular interest that brings many to the landing is the Giant Clams which can be dug up during low ties during the spring and fall months.
There are some restrictions with clam fishing and a valid California fishing license is required in order to dig for clams.

Lawson’s Landing is a picturesque and serene setting for enjoying activities such as camping, fishing, kayaking, hiking, clamming, wildlife activities, beachcombing and educational fieldtrips.

The camping is in meadows that are surrounded by lovely sand dunes and the Pacific Ocean is in plain view. Tomales Bay is within short walking distance. At the campsite there are both permanent restroom facilities as well as portable toilets in various spots of the park. No shower or laundry facilities are available, but the campsite has picnic tables, fire rings and both tents and RV’s are welcomed. Dogs are allowed on a leash only. The campground is closed during wet periods of the year, so you should phone in advance.
