Nicholas Canyon County Beach is located of the Pacific Coast
Highway (PCH), a couple of miles north of El Pescador State Beach.
The beach’s sign is not posted from the PCH, so keep an
eye out for the “coastal access” sign. There is a
paved walkway that leads to a flight of stairs to get to the beach.
The beach below offers a long stretch of white sand, which is
great for lying out and soaking up the sun.
This beach is said to be one of best “secret” LA
beaches. Nicholas Canyon County Beach is for those in search of
a beautiful sandy and secluded beach with year round surf. The
beach is monitored by a webcam that can be accessed at http://www.watchthewater.org.
There is a nice left point break that usually breaks on south
swells. This can also be a fun beach for body boarding and body
surfing.
There are several lookout points with benches and a couple of
picnic tables near the lifeguard tower, offering a great setup
for photographic opportunities or a mellow place to sit and enjoy
the sunset atop beautifully landscaped bluffs.
Nicholas Canyon beach is an excellent beach for the family. The
beach is easily accessed, with an abundance of parking available.
There is plenty of room for summertime activities and also enough
picnic tables by the parking lot for an entire family reunion.
The beach includes year round lifeguard service. There is a huge
paved parking lot with over 100 spaces to park your vehicle. The
parking costs between $2.00- $6.00 dollars a day.
