Malaga Cove is located off of Palos Verdes Drive West in Torrance, California. The Cove sits just south of Torrance Beach on Via Arroyo. Although somewhat hidden in the middle of a ritzy community, this is a popular dive spot and when conditions are good can be a great and secluded place to enjoy some California surfing. Because of the remote location, the locals can be somewhat territorial of their hidden treasure of a surf/dive spot.

Malaga Cove has a rocky bottom shoreline and does not rank among the best California beaches for basking in the sun on silky white sand. But the beautiful cascading cliffs and the reefs below provide for a picturesque scene. The Cove is notorious for its underwater beauty and diversity. Torrance beach is north of Malaga Cove and provides a wide sandy beach for sunbathing and picnicking.

The Malaga Cove area encompasses a quaint village with unique shopping opportunities. The price tags are steep, but a tour of the village is worth it. There are also amazing houses along the coast and adjoining residential communities that are eye catching.

Beach access is difficult. According to residents in the area, the only paths to the beach are down steep dirt trails, just south of the Gazebo that overlooks Malaga Cove. There is a parking area on Via Arroyo, next to the school and there is also street parking available along the residential streets.
