Most State beach camp sites are year-round, but some
of the beach parks are cooler in the winter. In Southern California
beach camping is great anytime of the year, but visitors stand a better
chance of getting the state beach campground during the non-summer months.
Reservations are accepted up to 56 days in advance of arrival. Some
days the California Dept. of Parks and Recreation reservation system
receives more than 3,000 calls per hour. To make reservations call 1-800-444-7275
or 619-452-8787 (8AM to 5PM Pacific Time) there is a $6.75 fee to make
a reservation.
