When it comes to 4th of July celebration, Washington DC is the most patriotic location we can think of.  The celebration here takes place at different places in Washington DC. As compared to last year, this year will bring in more fun and excitement.

The celebration will be for the whole day along with the most awaited fireworks. The nation’s capital becomes lively to celebrate its nation’s birthday. The events will kick off with the America’s National Independence Parade, a scene where you will see marching bands, military and specialty units, fife and drum corps, giant balloons, equestrian, drill teams, VIPs, national dignitaries and celebrities proudly passing from the Constitution Avenue between 7th & 17th streets at 11:45 am in the morning.

The event draws thousands of visitors and to get a good view you need to be there well ahead of the time. Some places along the route have bleachers but most places do not have. People either stand or sit close to the parade street.

Viewers are expected and requested to come dressed up in white, red & blue.  Bring refreshments and water to suffice till the end of the parade. There is dearth of shady spots come prepared to cope up with the hot weather.

After the parade take you friends and family U.S Capitol’s West Lawn which will have more fun and excitement instored for you. The concert which will begin from the mid afternoon will continue till the fireworks begin. Popular music groups will perform specially for you. The National Symphony Orchestra with guest stars and soloist will perform at 8pm.

You will have another option in the form of National Folklife Festival on the National Mall which will feature different cultures of America and showcase variety of ethnic groups. The 30-minutes firework show will begin at 9:20 pm over the Washington Monument Grounds.

The fireworks are the best part of the event but the crowd and the security restriction can mar the fun and excitement. It would be better if you come well informed.
