Mexico received another major setback when it was found to be epicenter of swine flu. It ranks 10th in the world as the most visited tourists destination. This year the tourism industry was already facing huge loses due to recession. The recent drug related violence killed more that 6,000 people added more to it.

The news of swine flu was still fresh and bubbling to become a matter of great concern when an earthquake with the magnitude of 5.6 on the ritcher scale rattled whole of Central Mexico. It seems there is no end to the woes of Mexico. The Swine flu has is now a global crises and is definitely going to affect tourism badly.

Every week there are 4,000 flights running between US and Mexico which surely going to affect. It has been urged from the people to avoid non essential travel to Mexico. The footage shown on the TV of closed business and soldiers giving out surgical masks on the streets have scared people to death.

The moment the swine flu outbreak was declared all the national museums, other tourists attractions and restaurants have been closed & the stadiums are lying vacant with all events canceled.

US cruise lines and airlines have canceled their routes to Mexico further diminishing any existing hope. These reasons are enough to affect tourism badly. The only thing we can do is just wait and watch till the situation gets back to normalcy. This I think is the worst phase which the Mexico is going through lets hope and pray, this long dark night should end soon and we see a new dawn.
