Matsuri Celebration: Japanese Culture Experienced In Arizona

Matsuri, basically a Japanese festival which is celebrated with great pomp and show in Phoenix. People enjoy being in this festival and the attractions and activities offered. This years too the festival has come up with the usual things in addition to some new surprises. The event is free but parking is very big hassle on the Heritage Square, which is very crowded when big event like this rolls around.

It is obvious you have to high price to get your car parked. But the most entertaining things happening inside will not make you feel bad about the high price you paid. This years celebration Theme is ‘NI JYU GO NEN SAI’. Cannot miss the Kyo Rei Taiko Kai or the beating of the Japanese drums with the fascinating rhythm and the Japanese folk dance performed on the street.

The martial art tournament attracts both the children and adults alike, with the most famous being the Budokai Japanese. The competition is open for all forms of martial arts. People can take a look at the sickle chain, Japanes bow and try their hand on the drums. Children can pose for a photograph with samurai and watch cosply (kosupure) or costume play. There are several displays, like Katana drawing (shinkendo), spear play (naginata jutsu), fencing ( kendo),kimono fashion show and lots and lots of Japanese food variety pleasing to palate.

Come one and come all as these kind of things are rare to find in USA
