Trail Description:

The Sugar Creek Equestrian Trail is a network of looping horse trails that winds over various types of terrain and through a variety of tree types. Rides range from moderately easy to more difficult. Connecting loops offer riders an opportunity to explore exciting outdoor opportunities.

History: This complex network of horse trails began in 1990 when a local group of equestrian riders became interested in having trail access for horseback rides.

Hiking the Sugar Creek Equestrian Trail:

Surface type: Unsurfaced. Difficulty Level: Easy to most difficult. Recommended Season: Fall through spring. Water: Drinking water is not available. Safety: During fall season, hunting is a very popular sport. Be alert and wear bright orange and place orange on your horses. Trail Marking: Yellow rectangles and yellow on posts.

Travel Information Trailhead Directions:

From State Hwy 23 take Hwy 116 East of County Road 19. Turn south for 8 miles to Knoppers Ford Recreation Area. Go south, past Knoppers Ford for ' mile to Road S30, turn left. Go approximately 1-' miles to the trailhead parking area.
