Fayetteville is the 6th fastest growing city in Arkansas
and the home of the University of Arkansas and their beloved Razorbacks
basketball team. This city is one of the most interesting and lively
in Arkansas, and is chock full of outdoor adventure.
Fayetteville is a city with a strong sense of its place in Arkansas’
history. Touring the historic downtown district is a good way to see
this first hand. The Clinton House Museum is the 1st home and wedding-site
of President William J. Clinton and his wife Hilary. Every April sees
the reenactment of the American Civil War Battle of Fayetteville just
outside of town.
Fayetteville and the Fayetteville area are blessed with an abundance
of outdoor-recreation opportunities. The city has 43 parks and over
17 miles of trails to hike, bike or jog on. Nearby Devil’s Den
State Park, just a short drive south of Fayetteville, offers camping,
hiking, fishing and spelunking in the beautiful Boston Mountains.
Fayetteville is rich in lakes. Lake Fayetteville’s 194 surface
acres are ideal for fishing and all manner of water sports, and the
640-acre city park has areas for hiking, picnicking and more. Scenic
little Lake Wedington has camping and cabins 15 miles west of Fayetteville.
Beaver Lake to the northeast can boast of 500 miles of shoreline to
enjoy.
