Arkansas with its multitude of waterbodies offers refreshing aquatic recreation. Unbelievable swimming beaches are to be found in the Natural State that besides showcasing spectacular scenery provide awesome water activities. Nearly all major lakes have some secluded coves and sandy beaches that make for great ol' swimmin' holes.

The mountains of Ozarks and Ouachita have man-made recreational lakes with boating and fishing aplenty. Besides extensive natural waterworks runs across Arkansas having scenic hidden shores used for enjoyment and recreation. There are small lakes, medium-size lakes and large lakes with fantastic swimming areas where undeniably the focus is on chilling out. All watersports fans will discover thrilling aquatic pleasures and will love to splash in the swim spots here.

The thing about Arkansas beaches is that they are never too crowded. Beaches with swimming and picnic facilities are located on DeSoto, Cortez, and Balboa harboring some cozy coves too. Here's a line up of some of the beachy spots in this landlocked State!

  1. Shores Lake set in the Ozark mountain offers ideal vacationing along its 82 acre shore line where you can fish, hike and picnic besides swimming.
  2. Blanchard Springs offers great outdoor experience as the springs gush out in waterfalls from the hillside making it a pleasure to swim in the clear waters.
  3. Lake Bennet is a popular spot to cool it off especially in summers. A sandy beach offers all the fun of beachside recreation in an idyllic setting.
  4. Lake Sylvia is also a favorite spot in Ouachita forests to have fun where the swimming beach and picnic sites offer pleasurable respite.
  5. Shady Lake in the Ouachitas has a wonderful sandy beach thats the highlight of the region. Enjoy fishing here and also hiking that takes you around the lake.
  6. Lake Austell in Village Creek State Park are better known for fishing. But they are both enjoyable spots for taking a dip too. These spring-fed lakes make great swimming areas especially Austell with its sandy beach.
  7. Storm Creek and Bear Creek the twin lakes in St Francis National Park offer recreational activities along with swimming beaches providing loads of fun.
