From the mountainous terrains of Ozarks to the eastern stretch near Mississippi River, Arkansas boasts more than 100 universities and colleges where students from around the globe drop in to seek the best of the education. The state capital city of Little Rock has over 35 colleges including the very famous University of Central Arkansas. In Fayetteville, you will find the third largest university in the state, University of Arkansas, having campuses in Little Rock, Fort Smith, Moticello and Pine Bluff. Arkansas also bears religious affiliations in most of its premier educational institutions, for the Protestant population is in majority in the state. University of Arkansas holds the distinction of being the only metropolitan public university in the state. It has been part of the Arkansas University System since 1969. The campus accommodates 140 buildings in lush green 150 acres area in Little Rock. It has about 13,000 enrolments. The programs are semester-based. Nine colleges are affiliated to this university offering over 100 courses to both part time and full time students from Arkansas, 43 other states and 62 nations. Learning facilities include innovative resource centers, radio and TV stations, hi-tech computer laboratories and interactive art galleries. The campus also features a huge library with 4,00,000 volumes, audio visual display, digital arrangements, CDs and more than 2,000 periodicals. It also provides students housing at the campus.

Arkansas Tech University is the most preferred technical university in the state of Arkansas. Located in Russellville, the university also runs a unique satellite campus in the town of Ozark. It is also regarded as one of the fastest growing universities in the state. The programs offered are both at graduate and baccalaureate level. Nuclear Technology, Information Technology, Criminal Justice, Arts and Medical Assistant are the prime courses one can choose from. Research services are also offered to develop professional aspect of the students. Though it is a mid-sized university, the quality of education deems great mention in rest of the nation.
