Arkansas is a temperate state with a tendency towards warm, humid summers, particularly in the southern lowlands. Summers average about 70 degrees, though the hottest months (July and August) can reach the 90’s. Most of the year Arkansas is mild in climate, with late autumns, early springs and forgiving winters. Arkansas gets an average of 45 inches of rainfall a year, and an average of a mere 5.2 inches of snowfall, which is heaviest in January.
