State parks in Arkansas feature some of the best campsites in United States with highest peaks, trails, 6,00,000 acres of lakes, 9,700 miles of rivers amidst rich flora and fauna. More than half of the 52 State Parks offer camping. Pets are also allowed in all these campsites provided it does not cause any disturbance to other visitors. Most of the campsites feature water, electric supply, picnic tables, tents and RVs. Petite Jean State Park near Littlerock is an ideal family camping spot comprising over 120 campsites equipped with maximum facilities. Similarly De Gray Lake Resort State Park offers 113 campsites, most of them on the lakes shore and serves as great fishing spots. Bull Shoals on White River is also great fishing spot.

  • White Rock Mountain Campground
White Rock Mountain Campground is located in Mulberry area of Arkansas and best known for its cleanliness. Rugged mountain bluffs and scenic views make up for the beauty of this campground in Ozark National Forest. Three cabins made up of natural stones are the reminiscent of its eco-friendly past. An old lodge on the White Rock Mountain is worth staying. The mountain stands at 2,260 feet above the sea level and got its name from the sheer bluffs that appears white. The area remains surrounded by high bluffs which require a bit of caution while taking children there. It offers more than 13 miles of loop trail and 1.5 miles of mountain top trail. The famous Ozark Highlands Trail also intersects these loops. Fire pits, tent pads and cleaner tents are the best part of the services this campground offers.

Charlton Campground near Crystal Springs has three adventure filled loops – A, B and C. You can find a great swimming spot for fun splash at Walnut Creek, beach full of grass and number of shady trees to ensure you spend fine day at Loop A. It has retained most of the things in its natural forms, perhaps, the reason for no hook ups there. However, electric and water supply has been made available at Loop B, which takes good care of your privacy. Campers can go for challenging drive in a recreational vehicle as Loop B offers some very steep slopes. Loop C provides both electric supply and non-supply sites. Adventure mixes with fun here as this loop is surrounded by dense forests. The campground also offers access to Lake Ouachita, which is just 4 miles away.
