Arkansas isn’t well known as a tourist destination these days, but it wasn’t always so. Eureka Springs was a national hotspot for the smart-set at the turn of the century, when the rich and famous came to soak in bathhouses built around natural hot spring. They’re still there today (the resort and springs, not the Victorian tourists), and they’re only one of Arkansas charming vacation areas. Little Rock is a small city with big city appeal, the Ozark Mountains are great for hunting, fishing and camping expeditions, and rafting down the Buffalo National River is a relaxing way to see some dramatic wild scenery.
