Located 7 miles north of Flagstaff on the San Francisco Peaks, the Arizona Snowbowl is an alpine ski resort. It boasts of an impressive 2,300-foot vertical drop & five sky lifts. Arizona Snowbowl has been operating for over 70 years and is open year round. Comfortable lodging is available at the nearby Sky Lift Lodge. In addition to skiing, the Arizona Snowbowl offers a variety of other activities like hiking trails to the Coconino National Forest & an 18 hole disc golf course. During summers, visitors can enjoy the Agassiz chairlift offering spectacular views of the Grand Canyon & surrounding areas
Arizona Snowbowl
Though less popular than Arizona Snowbowl, the Sunrise Park Resort located in the White Mountains is the largest ski area in Arizona. Owned & operated by the White Mountain Apache Tribe, Sunrise Park offers over 13 miles of cross country skiing trails. With 65 trails spread over three mountains - Sunrise Peak, Apache Peak and Cyclone Circle - Sunrise offers a wide range of runs for beginners as well as expert skiers. You can also snowboard, cross-country ski and go tubing. Sunrise Peak features two exclusive beginner ski areas and gentle, well-groomed lower slopes. Apache Peak has wide trails for skiers who like to cruise. Cyclone Circle has the steepest terrain. Lodging is available just a couple of miles from the ski area.
