Lake Mohave in Arizona is a 67-mile portion of the Colorado
River. This narrow lake is no more than 4 miles across at its widest
point, and most of its length stretches between the sheer walls of Pyramid,
Painted, Eldorado and Black canyons.
Behind Davis Dam Lake Mohave is part of the Lake Mead National Recreation
Area. It is maintained by the National Park Service, and is a habitat
for fish and wildlife.
There are numerous beaches at Lake Mohave most of which can only be
reached via boat. Anglers will be happy to know that Rainbow Trout can
be found in the upper end of Lake Mohave and Large and Striped Bass
are present in the lower portions of the lake. An Arizona fishing license
with a special-use stamp is required.
The Lake Mohave area along the Colorado River below Davis Dam provides
various outdoor adventure opportunities. Guests at Lake Mohave can enjoy
recreational activities like fishing, boating, swimming, water skiing,
camping, picnicking and just exploring.
