This course is difficult because it features many rolling hills and mounds which will cause uneven lies. Because this course is located in the hills around Scottsdale, you can expect many changes in elevation. This club annually hosts the Ping Pro-AM Scratch Tournament. "Golf Digest" rated this as the 80th best out of "America's 100 Greatest Courses" for 1995 and 1996, and 93rd in 1997-98. The same publication chose it as the 3rd "Best in State" course for 1995-96, and 4th in 1997-98. "GOLF Magazine" selected it 61st in the category of "Top 100 Courses in the U.S." for 1995, 65th in 1997 and 89th in 1999. "GOLFWEEK" chose the course 53rd among "America's 100 Best Modern Courses" for 1997 and 1999, and 57th for 1998.
