Aurora Ice Museum

This Museum was built as a way to boost tourism at Chena Hot Springs Resort located 60 miles northeast of Fairbanks. The Aurora Ice Museum features a gallery, an ice bar, overhead chandeliers all made of individually carved ice crystals which change color every six seconds mimicking the northern lights. Countless sculptures including a gigantic chess set, life sized jousting knights, an ice fireplace and four galleries with varying themes. Devoted to all things ice, this museum puts you in a winter mood no matter what the summer temperatures are like.

Gorgeous ice beds and an ice outhouse are also inside! There's an indoor igloo, coca cola bear, pulpit, ice bar, giant jousting sculpture and lots more! Best of all is the beautiful lit-up "fireplace" and Ice-Mass Tree! On the grounds are an outdoor hot spring and a place to take a ride on a dog sled! The Ice Museum is a resounding success with more than 10,000 visitors touring it each summer.
