The University of Alaska Anchorage was founded as Anchorage Community College in 1954. Located in the heart of Anchorage city, the college campus is nestled in a scenic location surrounded by ponds, lakes & wildlife. The largest post-secondary institution in the University of Alaska System, the college has over 15,322 undergraduate students studying either in its main campus or the four associated community campuses. University of Alaska-Anchorage
The University of Alaska Fairbanks was founded in 1917 as the Alaska Agricultural College & School of Mines. Alaska’s flagship university campus, UAF has over 9,828 students from Alaska & most other countries of the world. While 89% of the students are undergraduate, there are also non-traditional students attending school while also working full/part time. Owing to its location just 200 miles south of Arctic Circle, this northernmost Land, Sea & Space Grant University & International Research Center is perfect for Arctic & northern research. UAF is also Alaska’s only campus to award doctoral degrees.
