  • Airports in Alaska

Owing to the formidable terrain of Alaska and the long distances between settlements, the major means of transportation in Alaska is by air. While air taxis are commonly used for transferring tourists to specific destinations, for transferring medical help, supplies & transport settlers to the interiors, the bush pilots are used. Though there are large numbers of private airstrips & small airports for accessing remote areas, few of the major Alaska airports include, Anchorage International Airport, Merrill Field in Anchorage, Fairbanks International Airport, Juneau International Airport and Valdez Pioneer Field.
