The campground is operated & managed by park concessionaire Alaska Recreation Management. Discovery campground offers a tranquil setting of peaceful lakes, forests, saltwater beaches & streams. In addition, the rich diversity of wildlife that you may see during your visit includes bald eagles, golden eye ducks, beluga whales, coyote, trumpeter swans, harbor seals, warblers & thrushes.

Located south of Anchorage at Bird Creek, the Bird Creek Campground offers a range of exciting outdoor recreations including, wildlife viewing, fishing, whale watching and hiking. Not to be missed is the experience of spectacular sunsets. Within the campground one may find wooded sites with picnic tables & fire rings. While it is advisable to check the weather conditions before you visit the campsite, the best time to visit is usually from May to September.
