Located atop Lookout Mountain, Little River Canyon National Preserve protects what is known to be nation’s longest mountaintop river, the Little River. The river is also considered amongst the wildest & cleanest waterways in the South. While the 600ft tall sandstone cliffs towering above the narrow canyon floor are every rock climber’s paradise, the 23 mile scenic drive ahead known as Little River Canyon Rim Parkway offer eye-popping vistas. Another spectacular sight is the three waterfalls formed by the Little River – DeSoto Falls, Little River Falls & Garce’s High Falls. In short, this waterfall strewn park offers the perfect blend of natural & cultural history.
