Country Club of Birmingham Course 2

Share Share Share
This club has two regulation eighteen hole courses. Both of these courses are challenging, but the West Course is the most demanding of the two. The terrain is hilly, and several ponds come into play on many holes. The greens are large with subtle undulations. "Golf Digest" rated the West as the 8th "Best in State" course for 1995-96, and the 9th best for 1997-98. The West Course was remodeled in 1958 by Robert Trent Jones, Sr., and in 1986 Pete Dye remodeled the course again. The East Course has mostly flat terrain with a creek that crosses seven holes. It was remodeled by George Cobb in 1964, and in 1990 John LaFoy remodeled the course.
