Alabama Adventure, formerly known as Visionland, is located off Interstate 20 /59 in Bessemer, west of Birmingham, Alabama.
Alabama Adventure is really 2 parks. One is a water park and the other is a "dry ride" park that includes roller coasters and other rides.
Alabama amusement park features rides such as the "Rampage," one of the nation's fastest and biggest wooden roller coasters, "Zoomerang," a steel "boomerang" coaster, and "Space Shot," a 185-foot launching tower. In early 2007, Southland Entertainment announced 2 new additions to Alabama Adventure: a new ride called "Vertigo," and a new water play area designed for children 6 and under called "Salamander Bay".
Approximately 345,000 people visited Alabama Adventures in 2005, making the park Alabama 's 2nd-most popular Alabama vacation tourist destination according to the Bureau of Tourism and Travel. The number of visitors to Alabama Adventure rose to more than 388,000 in 2006.
